Did you know that turning off the faucet while you’re brushing your teeth can save between 20-30 gallons of water per week per PERSON in your household?
Brushing your teeth is a huge part of maintaining good oral health. But leaving the faucet on while you’re brushing can waste a lot of water… and in Arizona that’s a big deal. So we compiled a list of things you can do to help save water and some are big enough that you should be able to see those savings on your water bill!
- Save up to 150 gallons a month per PERSON by shortening your shower by a minute or two.
- Plug the tub before turning the water on then adjust the temperature as the tub fills up.
- Save up to 1,000 gallons a month by running the washer and dishwasher only when they’re full.
- Stop watering the house, street or sidewalk: adjust your sprinklers so they only water the lawn… and then adjust the timing so you water in the early morning or late evening to avoid evaporation.
- Don’t forget to check outside for leaks in faucets, sprinklers, or hoses.
